Brief
To produce an A2 poster and supporting social media post that promoted one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (also known as the Global Goals) from the United Nations, which seek to end poverty and inequality, protect the planet, and ensure that all people enjoy health, justice and prosperity.
This was a university project that was completed with feedback from senior designers at Project Everyone, who promote the goals. For this project, I was assigned goal 17, or ‘Partnerships for the goals: Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for Sustainable Development.’
Solution
The final poster was illustrated by hand, and the subtle shadow of two hands represents the opportunity for partnerships that are not currently being fostered. The simplicity reinforces the main tagline, which also plays on the concept of partnerships being in reaching distance.
The supporting social media asset includes an Instagram carousel, as these proved the most effective platform and content for younger audiences. The carousel incorporates the Instagram content warning for violent imagery, but instead hides the concept that people prefer not to accept personal responsibility for making the most of partnerships. A supporting video was edited in Premiere Pro, which reinforces the necessity of unity and partnerships.
